VMU Sports Center to Host the Baltic Women’s Volleyball League Final Four
This weekend, on March 1-2, the Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Sports Center will host the Baltic Women’s Volleyball League Final Four tournament. The best teams from the league will compete, including Kaunas “TK Kaunas-VMU,” which will aim to reclaim the Baltic League championship title after a one-year break.
After a tense quarterfinal battle, where the “Kaunas-VMU” team defeated the Latvian team “Jelgava” 2-0, it was also confirmed that the Final Four would be held in Kaunas this year. This became a perfect opportunity for the “Kaunas-VMU” volleyball players to regain the tournament championship title they won two years ago.
“Kaunas-VMU” Aims to Reclaim the Championship Title
After a year’s break and failing to defend the champion title, the “Kaunas-VMU” volleyball players are determined to regain the title of the best team in the Baltic countries this year. The team’s coach, Violeta Makauskienė, has no doubt that playing on home turf can help achieve this goal.
“Of course, playing on home soil is an important factor that adds extra motivation, determination, and, hopefully, more effort from the players,” said V. Makauskienė. She also emphasized that the “Kaunas-VMU” team wants to give their all to reclaim the championship title and show their fans what it means to play at home.
