For the multiple LSKL champions, Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) basketball players, the first quarterfinal match against the Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) team was also not particularly tense – VDU won the points race 130:107 (29:23, 29:35, 43:26, 29:23).
However, LSU managed to tie the score at 58:58 at halftime, playing on their home court.
But in the third quarter, VDU put on a real offensive show, scoring 43 points and leaving LSU with no chance of victory.
Ignas Vaitkus was the star of the VDU team, scoring 32 points in 33 minutes of play (9/11 two-pointers, 4/10 three-pointers, 2/3 free throws, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 fouls drawn, and 39 efficiency points).
Titas Januševičius and Evaldas Džiaugys added 20 points each to the victory, Jokūbas Rubinas and Kajus Leliukas added 15 each, and Vytautas Šulskis added 11.
Gabrielius Jokubauskas stood out among the LSU players, scoring 29 points in the minutes he spent on the court (4/11 two-pointers, 4/10 three-pointers, 9/11 free throws, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 8 fouls drawn, 39 efficiency points).
VDU clearly won the battle for rebounds – 45:24.
