VMU invites you to spend World Health Day actively

On Tuesday, April 9th, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) invites you to actively celebrate World Health Day together. World Health Day, initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO), has been celebrated at the beginning of every April for more than 70 years. This year, VMU encourages all members of the community – students, staff, and alumni – to spend the day being physically active and socially responsible.

On April 9th, from 11:00 to 14:00, there will be three stops:

Physical Activity and Health Lab Stop

The VMU Sports Centre will present and invite community members to try out various tests to determine their physical condition. Participants are invited to engage in a variety of fitness activities, including a jump test, dynamometry, pulse oximetry, spirometry, blood pressure measurement, body composition analysis, and functional movement assessment.

Emotional Health Stop

Emotional health goes hand in hand with physical health, contributing to feeling good every day. That’s why the VMU Psychology Clinic invites members of the community to try out the mindfulness program in virtual reality.

Health-Boosting Food and Drink Station

The VMU Botanical Garden, the Academy of Agriculture, and partners will invite community members to sample a variety of health-enhancing foods and drinks, from hemp foods to black garlic tastings.

Let’s strengthen our health and fitness together with VMU – meet us on April 9th at K. Donelaičio str. 52 (Kaunas), first-floor lobby. We’ll be waiting for you from 11:00 to 14:00.
