The Lithuanian Student Football League season has started
Vytautas Magnus University football team took the fourth place in the 2018 – 2019 years Lithuanian Student Football League season. At the start of the new season, head coach Mantas Gintalas said that the team had retained its core lineup and added new players. The coach said that this season raises more questions than answers.
“You always expect very high places before the season, but then you face reality. We have a goal to win in every match. The first season match with KTU football team will answer many questions,”– said M. Gintalas.
In the first match of the season, our University team met with KTU. VMU footballers in sub-match did not fight against KTU. KTU won the match 4:0.
“The difference is too big, because two league teams played. Everything was determined by individual mistakes of our players. We are afraid of something, we do not trust ourselves. It was the first match of the season and I believe that everyday will be better,” – said VMU coach.
In the second math of the season, VMU football team met VGTU. Universities won first point in the new season. In this match, VMU focused on defending their defensive abilities and otherwise.
“I would say that we have made the game plan quite successful. We failed of our own chances, but we won our first point and I considered it a positive result,” – said VMU coach after the match with VGTU.
