On Tuesday evening, at the Valdas Adamkus Sports Center of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), the VMU football team lost 2:4 to Klaipėda University (KU) in a Lithuanian Student Football League (LSFL) match.
Already in the 20th minute of the first half, Klaipėda scored a goal when Ignas Paulius found the back of the net. Adrijus Putvinas added another goal in the 33rd minute of the match, and VMU went into the long break trailing 0:2.
The second half began with a mistake by Benas Valiulis, which cost his team a goal, and KU took a 3-0 lead in the 55th minute. Although Martynas Samoška softened the blow in the 67th minute (1-3), and Reinas Batutis brought VMU even closer to a draw in the 79th minute (2:3), Adrijus Putvinas’ accurate shot in the 88th minute sealed the deal, and KU triumphed 4:2.
The next LSFL match for VMU footballers will be on October 28 (Tuesday), when they will host the Kaunas University of Technology team at the VMU President Valdas Adamkus Sports Center.
