VDU-2 basketball players were no match for Kauno kolegija in the RKL B division game

Kauno kolegija (1/1) won its first victory in Group A of Division B of the Regional Basketball League (RKL), defeating Vytautas Magnus University-2 (0/2) 80:68 (17:21, 23:9, 14:20, 26:18) on its home court.

VDU-2 started the game better and led after the first quarter (21:17), but their joy was short-lived – Kaunas College’s basketball players went on a 14:3 run, took the lead (37:26) and held on to it until the second half.

In the third quarter, Rimas Sorokas’s players managed to get back into the game, and after Irmantas Griškelis scored, VDU students were back in the lead (44:42). However, I. Eidukevičius, who took the Kaunas College team on his shoulders, regained control (54:47). In the fourth quarter, the hosts closed out the game firmly (76:61) and recorded a well-deserved victory.

Irmantas Griškelis scored 14 points (4/4 two-pointers) for Vytautas Magnus University’s second team, while Jonas Gineika and Kristupas Keršanskas added 10 points each.
