VMU and NATO organized sport festival “Friendly tournament”
On 28th of November, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) and NATO organized sport festival “Friendly tournament”. The aim of this event was to show everyone that sport is more than just a game – it is an opportunity to make new acquaintances and get to know different fields. In this case, with the NATO Forces Battalion.
Students and NATO soldiers from Germany, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands competed in basketball and volleyball, divided into 8 teams of 5-6 players. Participants were randomly assigned to the teams.
During the break between competitions, NATO soldiers and all participants had a lunch break, during which they could communicate and get to know each other.
Also, during “Friendly tournament” there was a socially active running (held at “Kamša” Botanical and Zoological Reserve). The aim of this event was to draw attention to global climate change.
