VMU representatives among the best Lithuanian student athletes of 2021
On November 25th 2021, the Great Hall of the Faculty of Catholic Theology of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) hosted an evening of honouring and awarding the best Lithuanian student-athletes of 2021. The event honoured the best Lithuanian student-athletes, whose achievements make their Alma Mater and country famous in international sports arenas.
The second place in the 2021 Best Athletes of the Year was taken by Kristupas Šleiva, a second-year student of the VMU Academy of Education, who represents the sport of Greco-Roman wrestling. K. Šleiva became The Lithuanian champion, won 3rd place at the World Wrestling Championships.
Vitalijus Kozys, a third-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of VMU, has become the best 3×3 basketball player of the Lithuanian Student Basketball League 2021.
Urtė Andriukaitytė, a second-year Master’s student at the Faculty of Economics and Management of VMU, has become the best beach volleyball player of 2021.
The awards were presented to the athletes by LSSA President Česlovas Garbaliauskas, Vice-Minister of Education, Science and Sport Linas Obcarskas and LSSA Vice President Genovaitė Avižonienė.
