VMU athletes won 45 medals at the SELL Games in Tartu
The 38th SELL Student Games took place in Tartu, Estonia, on 19-21 May, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of the SELL Student Games in 1923. The 38th edition of the Games was attended by almost 1,000 students from Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Turkey. The Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) delegation consisted of 69 athletes, who brought back to Kaunas a rich baggage of awards, winning 45 medals in ten different sports.
The 69 VMU athletes competed in volleyball, athletics, judo, badminton, Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling, powerlifting, table tennis, beach volleyball, 3×3 basketball, and 5×5 basketball.
VMU athletes won medals:
Athletics – 6 golden and 2 silver medals
Judo – 8 golden, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medals
Badminton – 5 golden, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals
Greco-Roman wrestling– 1 golden and 2 silver medals
Freestyle wrestling – 1 golden and 2 silver medals
Powerlifting – 1 golden medal
Table tennis – 3 golden and 2 bronze medals
Beach volleyball – 1 golden medal
3×3 basketball – 1 golden and 1 silver medals
5×5 basketball – 1 golden medal
Volleyball – 1 golden medal
